They just sit on their hands and do nothing in that department. Hasbro seems to be excelling at everything except video games. I'm still surprised that a game was never planned, or even thought of, for this trilogy. When the WFC trilogy was first announced, I had sort of expected a video game tie-in of some sort to be announced at some point later. Is that game from Certain Affinity even still happening? I mean, I would think Hasbro would be trying to hype people up for the first Transformers console game in roughly half a decade. Tl//DR: FOC and WFC were factually dead and why would Activision pay to keep the servers running on a game no one is playing?
Check this out for yourself on the steam charts.Īctivision has to pay to keep the servers running so why would they on a game they can't sell and one that really has no players? Fall of cybertron was even more dead with a peak player base of only 20.
War for cybertron had a peak player base of only 37 players last month and before that month they had a peak player base of only 35. Multi-player on WFC and FOC were extremely dead on console and PC and with new better games coming out every month the games were going to continue to have a decrease in player base. WFC is 10 years old next month and FOC is 8 years old. I'm not sure why everyone is calling Activision scummy. We also have to think about the possibility that High Moon Studios no longer has the source codes and assets of FOC and WFC(and if they did there's nothing they could legally do with them) It's essentially a remake of halo online and that's not exactly the same thing as switching on P to P. Microsoft also went after them and requested they remove and replace those stolen files. On the reason Eldewrito was possible is because soon after Halo Online released essentially all of the game assets were leaked online along side an extremely early build of the game. There also isn't a big enough case for enabling that considering the games are dead on every platform. You have to remember that High Moon Studios is dead and logically Activision wouldn't put in the work for a game they really no longer own. While enabling P to P servers would be nice. They legally no longer have the rights to it. They shut down the servers because the game was no longer profitable but not only that.
#Are gears of war for pc servers still up download#
The most they did was take down the download link and stop the main people behind it from working on it further. People took a bunch of assets together and slapped it together into a game that’s player to player, so 343 couldn’t shut it down. They simply don’t let people log in anymore in an attempt to stop people from even trying to do P to P. Just let players connect to other players, or host their own servers. I'd be happy to answer.Because there was an easy solution to let the players that remain keep playing.
If you want to know any more, just ask me a question on this thread or on my profile. I myself will be mostly modding on Bo3 when I get my new PC that can handle it. It describes people who make their own maps & scripts) have gone on to do the same stuff on a new engine with better graphics n' such.

You see, Black Ops 3 has gotten these same mod tools & most of the "modders" - (This isn't a bad term. The modding community, on the other hand, isn't quite as strong anymore. The Zombies community is very strong in all, even on this game. Or even make your own Campaign missions!), and scripts. Not only is that a featured mode in Call of Duty: World at War, but you can also download "Mod Tools" that allows users to create their own maps, (Multiplayer & Zombies. It is some of the most fun I have ever had on a video game. Because of it's massive success with fans, the gamemode is featured in every Treyarch Call of Duty game to this day & has even led other Call of Duty developers to make their own versions of Zombies with different gameplay features and story. There is also a story hidden with easter eggs in the maps. You use perk machines to help aid you in various ways, such as "Juggernog Soda" that allows you to take 6-7 hits before getting downed, or even a "Mystery Box" that gives you a random weapon to use against the zombies. Killing and damaging zombies gains you points to use to buy things such as weapons & perks. You face the undead hoard solo or up to 4 players. The gamemode has evolved into something that almost all Treyarch fans enjoy, weather it be all the time, or part time. Now I believe it to be one of the main reasons of DLC sales on Bo3 (Black Ops 3). Zombies is a gamemode that the developers threw in as a last minute test.
